Untitled (Unscientific American)
|
This is a digital drawing, a parody alteration of a popular June 2000 cover of Scientific American about the birth of ‘Molecular Electronics’. The original cover mixes conventional and nanoscale characteristics in a singe image; and assigns many conventional qualities such as scale, light, color, shadow, and reflection with the nanoscale molecule held between two gold tips. The alteration places the molecule in Michelangelo’s Creation of Man to bring into question the misleading or unscientific nature of the cover.
