(b)rainStorming.jpg
(B)Rainstorming-735 viewsInspired by the TEM microscopic image of early gamma-precipitations in the superalloy Waspaloy (Patrick Majerus, Master thesis, 1999). Background of the picture was painted wet-in-wet by liquefied acrylics to suggest the landscape in the stormy sunset. On the dry layer happy people are dancing.. Through the imaginable window we see them playing together and having fun, in spite of lightning around them. The gamma-precipitations were then drawn as drops of the rain on the window.
books_and_more.jpg
Books and more...-708 viewsBased on SEM image of Fe-Oxide formed on Fe-10Cr alloy after 48 h oxidation at 1000°C in Ar-4%H2-7%H2O (2008-High Temperature Corrosion Calendar, INSTITUTE OF ENERGY RESEARCH, FZJ). Background of the picture was painted wet-in-wet by liquefied acrylics. Afterwards, on the dry layer the elements of passion for books and literature has been painted. Although all of them are bound together by the same subject they are very different in their interest. Get amused to discover it...
development.jpg
Development-711 viewsInspired by SEM cross section image of ash on Al-oxide carrier (2009-High Temperature Corrosion Calendar, INSTITUTE OF ENERGY RESEARCH, FZJ). Given image has been turned and transform into tree-stone growing out from rocks. This heavy object is push by mythological Sisyphus. Strong man full of determination to get his goal: bring the rock to the top. The tree trunk is formed by the hand which carries precious and fragile bubble. However, the content of the bubble is more delicate than its surrounding, therefore, there are hands which take about this little child-idea care. Just like in science, the small idea of great development must be taken care of to not too early be disqualify. There are many people who want to help, but obstacles are also big. Therefore there is some Sisyphus in everyone who wants to push development. Background of the picture was painted wet-in-wet by liquefied acrylics. Afterwards, on the dry layer the details have been painted.
lady_bird.jpg
Lady bird-684 viewsBased on TEM image of yttria nanodots in the YCBO matrix (AMSC® http://www.amsc.com/products/htswire/_2Gwirearchitecture.html). With liquified acrylics the resemblance of memristors built in HP Labs was painted as nanomemristors could be possible future for nanoscale logic and memory systems. Thus the part of keyboard reflects the connection to the computer technology (on it the sign on memristor is painted). There are seven lady birds on the picture, sign of good luck for this innovations. The biggest Lady bird is in the same time an optical computer mouse.
time.JPG
Time-694 viewsInspired by image “Hanging in there”; high resolution monochromatic electron scan of nanosculpture created and provided by Cris Orfescu in 2009 and the words of A. Einstein words “Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow ”. Classical, old, partially broken alarm clock is a reminder of the past. The leafs of calendars are transitions between yesterday, today and future, time passing between our fingers. And at least but not last the butterfly represent our hope for tomorrow. Background of the picture was painted wet-in-wet by liquefied acrylics. Afterwards, on the dry layer the details have been painted.
